You have hedged me behind and before, and laid your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain it. Where can I go from your spirit? Or where I flee from your presence? If I ascend into heaven, you are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold you are there. If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the outermost parts of the sea even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me. If I say, surely the darkness shall fall on me; even the night shall be light about me.

As a child of the Covenant with God, there is nothing happening to you that God is not aware of. There was a time in my life I found myself in Kano. I was employed in a company where I had no time for God. We were asked to come to clear some consignment at the Apapa Port in Lagos. Before we knew it our signatures had been forged and the consignment stolen. I found myself thereafter in Kirikiri Prison for nine months. After my release, there was nothing I desire but God’s guidance in whatever I do. I can look back at the situation today and say confidently that God really knew about it. It was began to prepare me for the work of the ministry.

There was a time a man also came to pray, I prayed with him. God did not show me any evil. The man had hardly walked about three hundred metres away when he was knocked down by a car. He was hospitalized for some weeks, God knew about it. Unknown to him, a charm had been placed on his seat in the office. When he could come to the office another person was appointed to act on his behalf. The very hour the man to act sat on the seat, he collapsed. They thought it was stroke. He was taken to the hospital but he died. Within weeks every negative power operating in this office was destroyed and this man I prayed for was fully recovered and he resumed work fresh and promoted. The bible says all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to the purpose of his will by Christ Jesus (Romans 8:28).

No matter how terrible the situation, you are passing through now is, God knows about it. If you trust God, if you are patient, if you can be still. You will surely see the salvation of God.

If you have read the story of Joseph in the Bible, you will know his dream of being a great man seem will be aborted by brothers who because of envy sold him to slavery.

It seemed his future has ended when he was sold into slavery. At a point when he thought his profile was rising as a slave boy a fake accusation landed him in prison. It was in the prison, God promoted him to achieve the dream he had been having in his childhood.

As the bible puts it… “the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favour and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh King of Egypt and all his house (Acts 7:9,10). The secret of his success was in abiding in the will of God no matter the troubles you are passing through. If only you can think of all the troubles Jesus Christ went through while on earth. Satan tempted him. The Pharisees tried to stone him; many times they wrongly accuse him. The people from his hometown tried to discredit him as just a carpenter boy. Some even claim that he cannot be from God as he operates with the spirit of Belzebub; the Prince of demons. Jesus was not distracted. He was focused. He had succeeds because He was in God and God was with Him; as it was written;

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil for God was with Him (Acts 10:38). The key to his success like Joseph was focused on God and that God was Him.

If your are going through hard times at work, marriage, finance or you are in police troubles and it seems there is no help in sight. God knows about it. Only remain faithful to God. He will see you through. Let this word of the Psalmist not depart from our mouth.

Meditate on it daily in your heart: “I have set the Lord always before me; Because he is at my right hand I shall not be moved.” (Psalm 16:8). All things shall work together for your good and you will see the glory of the Lord in the land of the living. God bless you.

Worship involves giving honour and reverence. Simply put, it is a strong feeling of respect and love that should be given only to the creator of heavens and earth. The Almighty God himself declared. He will not share His glory with another person. The honour that belongs to God should not be given to idols.

What Do We Call Idols

An idol is a false god. It can be an image or figure regarded as an object of worship. I However men have venerated or promoted certain abstract objects and people to the level of idols to be worshipped. These idols share the glory of God in their lives. Christians are to avoid erecting altars promoting false worship in their hearts as well as in their homes.

When people allow the thoughts of adultery and fornication to dominate their heart and they go out to act as adulterers and fornicators, they have erected an alter that allows the spirit of adultery and fornication to have a place in their heart. They will do anything to worship on the altar. Each time they commit adultery and fornication they reinforce the presence of the goddess of adultery. The commandment of God however is “you should not commit adultery”. When you disobey God, you are obeying Satan and demons controlling your heart. When you find it easy to go against the word of God, don’t think it is a sign of “good luck” with women or money you are worshipping idols in your heat. Many people have sacrificed human lives on this altar as they commit abortion killing innocent souls.

They will sacrifice anything to get money. Judas Iscariot mortgaged an opportunity to be an accomplished Apostle on earth and a judge to reign with Jesus Christ in the Kingdom of heaven. Esau because of hunger sold his birth right. Why do you think some women go into prostitution and men become pick pocket or armed robbers? There are idols they worship in their heart. Our worship of the Almighty God should be total. It should take all our being. Jesus Christ said: “You shall love the LORD your God with all your soul, and with all your mind”. Matthew 22:37

Your worship of God should involve all your heart, all your soul and your entire mind. There should be practically no room for Satan.

INDIRECT SACRIFICE TO IDOLS

Satan devices various ways to make people worship him. It can be your people in the village who would ask you to send some amount of money home to perform some traditional ancestral festivals. If you contribute your money for such ancestral festivals, you have sent your support for idolatry worship. When they mention your name before the idol, the idol will accept you as one of the devotees. Do not use your money to promote idolatry practices.

Another method of deception is the satanic organization, which covers themselves in religious dresses. If you go there, they will still ask you to perform rituals the occultists and herbalists will ask you to perform in a modernized way. They are only using the Holy Bible to deceive.

Some Christians also fall into the error of going to stargazers who will tell them about how they should live their lives. Many people however do not need to go to stargazers directly. They guide their daily living by reading the stars column in daily newspapers. These kinds of people are no longer putting their trust on the word of God but on what the demons arc saving through the stars guide. Do not guide your life by the doctrine of the stargazers.

For those who go about with protective charms, good luck rings etc. thev are mortgaging their faith in the Almighty God. The Bible made us to know that there is no other name by which men could be saved but by Jesus Christ. Why should you make the charms, amulet and ring take the position of Christ in your life? The power of God will be made available to you only when you do not worship other gods. God wants to use your life to witness to others:

WHAT BENEFITS

What are the benefits of worshipping no idol but the Almighty God. Let us look at the package God promised in the book of Leviticus.

“If you walk in my statutes and keep my commandments, and perform them, then 1 will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruits. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage and shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land of safety.

I will give peace in the land and you shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. For I will look on you favourably and make you fruitful, multiply you and confirm my covenant with you. You shall eat the old harvest, and clear out the old because of the new. I will set my tabernacle among you, and my soul shall not abhor you. I will walk among you and be your God, and you shall be my people”. Leviticus 26:3-12
